At Basic Needs, we recognize that financial hardships tend to be an underlying factor in accessing food or housing.

How do I know if myself and/or my fellow student friends might be having financial security challenges?

• Out of State students pay more fees than in state students
• Students work multiple jobs to make ends meet, and sometimes it is still not enough, especially if they have dependents.
• There are students who skip meals in order to fund their education because they do not receive any financial support.

Just like your education at UCSD is an investment, you need to invest into yourself to ensure you get your financial needs met.

We believe it is your basic human right to have access to information that supports your financial literacy journey!
